The Korean War 75th Anniversary Pistol
“If we let South Korea down, the Soviets will keep right on going and swallow up one place after another.” – President Harry Truman
The Korean War 75th Anniversary Pistol
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the start of the Korean War. The conflict, often referred to as “The Forgotten War,” was fought from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953.
The Korean War was a pivotal conflict in the early Cold War era, marking the first significant armed confrontation between democracy and communism. For the United States, it was a demonstration of our resolve to defending freedom and containing the spread of communism.
The bravery and sacrifice of American service members during this war left an indelible mark on history, as they fought under harsh conditions to uphold international peace and security. The war claimed more than 36,000 American lives, and approximately 7,600 service personnel remain unaccounted for. Although hostilities ceased in 1953, there has been no formal end to the war.
The 75th anniversary is not only a tribute to the veterans who fought for freedom on the Korean Peninsula, but a reminder to ensure that future generations remember and honor the pride and dedication of those who served, the legacy they continued, and the freedom they preserved.
