Tennessee Legacy Over-Under Shotgun
On June 1, 1796, President George Washington ratified Tennessee to become the 16th state to join the United States.
Tennessee earned the moniker the “Volunteer State” during the War of 1812 due to the key role played by volunteers from the Tennessee militia. Newspapers of the day touted the military spirit of the men, and that reputation was solidified in the Mexican American War, and again with the War Between the States.
The American Civil War made a huge impact on Tennessee, with large armies routinely destroying its rich farmland, and every county witnessing combat. It was a divided state, with the Eastern counties harboring pro-Union sentiment throughout the conflict, and it was the last state to officially secede from the Union.
Even prior to the Civil War Tennessee was a leading producer of distilled spirits. Before the 1910 prohibition on whiskey, the state boasted hundreds of registered distilleries. Since the ending of prohibition in 1933, both large and small distilleries continue to enrich the Tennessee whiskey legacy.
Tennessee’s heritage is synonymous with the rise of popular music, heavily influenced by the contributions from timeless songwriters, legendary artists, and talented musicians across multiple genres. County, Blues, Bluegrass, Rock n Roll and Southern Gospel can all trace their roots here.
Called the “Smokies” due to the ever-present natural fog, this mountain range is home to a diverse number of animals and plants. From the natural beauty, Black Bears, and hiking to the Southern Appalachian Mountain terrain, it is easy to see why this is one of the most visited National Parks in the country.
Many are drawn here by the great outdoors, the love of music, or the southern hospitality that welcomes all. Whether your family settled here in previous generations, or you’ve sunk your own roots into this very special place, this shotgun has been designed with you in mind. No matter where you are from in “The Volunteer State” it holds true that this is a region with a proud heritage and enduring legacy!
