Black Bart was an outlaw that became known for his stagecoach robberies in the 19th century.  Originally born in England, Charles Boles came to the New World with his family.  He and his brother traveled out to California to take part of the Gold Rush but did not strike any riches.  Boles enlisted and fought in the Civil War and was seriously wounded in the Battle of Vicksburg.  After his recovery he went back to prospecting in the Idaho and Montana regions.  After failing to gain riches through prospecting, Boles took to robbing stagecoaches.

Taking on the nickname Black Bart, he became a notorious stage coach robber with a total of 28 robberies before he was caught.   Black Bart became known as the gentleman bandit for he never fired his shotgun while robbing stagecoaches. In fact, he left poems behind which became his signature touch.  He wore a flour sack over his head and carried a coach shotgun.  He robbed stagecoaches by foot for he was afraid of horses.  On his last robbery attempt at Funk Hill which is currently the town of Copperopolis, California, he was injured when the driver shot Black Bart and wounded his hand.  After having to flee the scene, detectives were able to track him down.  He was imprisoned and did not turn back to a life of crime.

To commemorate this Wild West Outlaw we have created the limited edition Black Bart Coach Gun.  The 12 Gauge Coach Gun made by Stoeger Industries is plated with 24 Karat Gold.  On the receiver and walnut stock, the engravings capture his legacy.  From one of poems that was left at one of his robberies to a Wanted poster placed for his arrest, this unique firearm is the one to have.  There will only be 28 numbered guns made since Black Bart made 28 robberies in his career.  Call today to get yours.
